Welcome to Joy of Eating the World!
Come join me on this delicious journey!
Let’s eat the world, one bite at a time!!
A fantastic way to bring more variety & JOY into life!
Buying an exotic meal is one thing: Cooking it yourself is a real adventure!
The great thing about cooking is if you cook, you can eat whatever you like whenever you want in your own kitchen. For sure sky is the limit. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a master chef to cook & eat the world. If I can, you can do it for sure.
I’m not an expert cook, just another self-taught home cook, the more I cook, the more I learn. If I know now little something about cooking, I have learned through reading, cooking, experimenting on a trial and error bases, and then making a lot of mistakes.
Along the way, I have tried a ton of recipes from all around the world and discovered wonders that I never knew existed. Well, as the saying goes, “Shared joy is a double joy”, I couldn’t resist my desire to share the “JOY of Eating the World” with you. That’s what led to this blog “JOY of Eating the World”.
I am pleased and honored to introduce delicious food recipes from around the world with step-by-step photos, detailed instructions, useful info, and helpful tips! I hope you will find here many recipes to love and to add to your repertoire of favorite things to try.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about me!
Well, my name is Kanthi. I was born and raised in Sri Lanka. I came to Japan (20+ years back) to study for Ph.D. at Kyushu University. Ever since Japan has become my second home.
Studying in a foreign university alongside other international students with various ethnic backgrounds from all around the world gave me a wonderful opportunity to experience the diversity of the world while exploring different cultures and getting to know people from different corners of the world.
And, I have plenty of opportunities to taste fantastic foods from other cultures. It didn’t happen overnight but that repeated exposure to new food eventually helped me to overcome some of my picky eating habits ( it’s still a long way to go) and then become this very “eat the world” person.
Hope you have a great time on my blog and thank you for stopping by. There’s a whole wide world out there waiting for you & me to explore. With ❤️ kanthi
I love hearing from you so feel free to leave a comment on a post
If you make any of my recipes, I’d love to see pics of your creations
